 FAQs

  • The light may be adjusted by loosing the screw in back and sliding the light up and down. In general the optimum light position is about 6 inches (15cm) above the plant.

  • If you're experiencing excess moisture in the growing medium, here are a few steps you can take to control it:

    Adjust the Water Flow:

Move the position of the gate valve slider on the pump that controls the water flow rate. Experiment with different settings to find the optimal flow for your specific setup.

    Pod Orientation:

Rotate the pod to position it less directly in the water stream. Adjusting its orientation can help regulate the amount of water reaching the medium.

    Run the pump intermittently:

Sometimes it is easiest just to run the pump for short periods each day, particularly when germinating seeds. The pump can be plugged in for a couple of minutes each day, or it can be set on a timer that automatically runs it for short periods each day. When germinating seeds, 5 minutes a day is sufficient to keep the media saturated. Once the seedlings are established, running the pump continuously ensures that nutrients are circulated to the roots and the solution is properly aerated.

  • If your growing medium is too dry, follow these steps to enhance moisture levels:

    Pod Placement:

If possible, reposition the pod to receive more direct water. Adjust its orientation to benefit from the water stream.

    Adjust Water Flow:

Ensure that the water flow to the medium is adequate. Experiment with the gate valve on the pump to increase the water supply.

    Moisture Cover:

To retain moisture, especially in drier conditions, you can place a small transparent cup or a piece of plastic wrap over the pod. This helps create a microenvironment that retains moisture around the growing medium.
